Healthcare is a prime concern for everyone worldwide. We want to be able to know our health conditions whenever we want and we also want to track our past and present medical check up results at our key tips. Technology has played a vital role in today healthcare scenarios, allowing users have some control over their health.
In the last decade, we have seen FinTech solutions in healthcare which allow users to pay their medical bills using their phones; IoT devices with the abilities to know your blood pressure and body temperate were also made available at your wrist; Apps that allow you to book and make changes medical appointments with doctors and specialists at your convenience. The latest buzzword is “Blockchain”.
A blockchain, originally block chain, is a growing list of records, called blocks, which are linked using cryptography. According to Wikipedia, each block contains a cryptographic hash of the previous block, a timestamp, and transaction data (generally represented as a Merkle tree). By design, a blockchain is resistant to modification of the data. It is “an open, distributed ledger that can record transactions between two parties efficiently and in a verifiable and permanent way”. For use as a distributed ledger, a blockchain is typically managed by a peer-to-peer network collectively adhering to a protocol for inter-node communication and validating new blocks. Once recorded, the data in any given block cannot be altered retroactively without alteration of all subsequent blocks, which requires consensus of the network majority. Although blockchain records are not unalterable, blockchains may be considered secure by design and exemplify a distributed computing system with high Byzantine fault tolerance. Decentralized consensus has therefore been claimed with a blockchain.
MedsBlock is one of the newly launched platform that uses blockchain technology to create a medical space where users can access to the healthcare services easily and in a more secure manner. The platform wants to create a transparent and safe community where people can manage their personal healthcare while at the same time, gain benefits in our token ecosystem. This is collaboration between patients, doctors, healthcare professionals, blockchain specialists and business advisors.
MedsBlock develops DApps to empower users to have full control over their health. Users are able to hold on to important health records and have the freedom to allow their own preferred doctors to assess them either face to face, online or with the help of artificial intelligence (AI) bots.
The platform powered by Blockchain technology is open to everyone. It will allow users to contribute their ideas and build applications. In turn, this will help us improve our platform and overall user experience in general and allow our users to have different ways to access their data and enrich the services that are on offer.
MedsBlock is making use of this technology to solve specific problems to improve healthcare for everyone. We hope more people can benefit from this technology. More developments can be found at www.medsblock.com.
About Medsblock (www.medsblock.com)
MedsBlock is a decentralized medical and healthcare platform that allows users to access and exchange their data in a rapid, secure and transparent manner. With the use of blockchain technology, MedsBlock gives conditional access to doctors, hospitals, laboratories, pharmacist and insurers, creating a community of healthcare professionals which allows them to interact to ensure that our patients receive the best healthcare advice and treatments.
